User Group is Digital Measures annual conference for clients who use Activity Insight, but it’s an exciting event for DMers as well. Our clients tell us they appreciate our informative agenda, interesting keynote speakers and the chance to network with DMers and colleagues from other universities. As all DMers attend User Group, they each have particular elements they love best. Here’s a few of their stories.
Face to Face
“My favorite part about user group is getting to meet face to face with my clients, and other people’s clients that I’ve heard about,” said Stacy Becker, Client Success Manager. “On the Client Success team, we all pitch in with coverage and support, so chances are, we’ve interacted with most Activity Insight Administrators, even when they’re not our client. And as a team, we talk through innovations and best practices, so we’re familiar with everyone’s story, even if we haven’t met them before.”
Having Fun Together
Some long-term working relationships flower into friendship. “My favorite part of User Group is hanging out with Don Friedricksen from Cornell’s SC Johnson School of Business—he’s attended every year,” said Kirby Fitch, Technical Product Manager. “He’s fun to be around and provides insight into what the technical folks who work with our software experience.”
Breaks and evening events offer opportunities to have fun together. “One of my favorite User Group moments was when Rob Robertson from Appalachian State University and I beat Steve [DeLonge, Chief Client Success Officer] and Megan Gonyo from University of Minnesota in a game of bags on the deck,” Andrew Wiech, Senior Engagement Consultant, shared.
“I love User Group. My first year, I’d been here working as a Developer, and I knew the ‘how’ of what I did,” said Christa Sprinkle, who is now a Quality Assurance Engineer. “At User Group, I met clients using the reports my team built and learned about the ‘why.’”
Becker likes having more time to talk. “I’m a people person, and just love having everyone here and getting to have more personal and extended conversations,” she said.
Preparations for User Group begin the day after we wrap up the event so we can offer the most useful and interesting mix of presentations and fun, uniquely Milwaukee events. This year, we have keynote speaker Arne Duncan, former U.S. Secretary of Education, 16+ presentations by clients using Activity Insight and Workflow, the annual DM Download from CEO and Founder Matt Bartel, a preview of our product roadmap, plus a reception in our new headquarters and a visit to Milwaukee’s beloved “Domes” conservatory. It’s not too late to register now and join us October 8-10!
