We’re excited to welcome back this year’s keynote speaker, Arne Duncan, to User Group 2018! The former U.S. Secretary of Education joined us at last year’s User Group for a candid conversation with Matt Bartel, President of Digital Measures by Watermark, about his friendship and experience working with President Barack Obama and the need to improve the lives of young adults.
To add to the conversation this year, Duncan will draw from his just-released book, How Schools Work, an exposé of the education system and countless everyday heroes in teachers, principals, reformers, presidents, etc. that inspire us.
“The feedback was overwhelmingly high on how special it was to have Secretary Duncan at User Group last year, so we thought why not create that experience again for attendees?” said Marie Farrell, Corporate Events Manager at Digital Measures by Watermark. “We asked Mr. Duncan to return as our keynote speaker to update us on what’s transpired in education over the past year, where things are going, and to share insights from his new book.”
Duncan is currently a senior fellow at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, a board member for Communities in Schools, Managing Partner of Emerson Collective, a social impact organization and heads up Chicago CRED, dedicated to ending the gun-violence in Chicago.
In an exclusive discussion for User Group attendees, Duncan will provide his outlook on higher education and the Routes to Success we should be taking to help youth today.
