Giving Back to College Possible

Every year we align our User Group conference with a local organization for giving back to the community. This year, we are happy to again partner with the organization College Possible.

What is College Possible?

The mission and heart of College Possible lies in helping promising, low-income students become college graduates. With coaching, guidance and support, high school juniors and seniors from are paired with recent college graduates who become their near-peer coaches. Students work one-on-one with their coaches to prepare for all aspects of the college application processfrom preparing for the ACT/SAT to understanding financial aid and preparing for the experience of college.

College Possible is active in Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Omaha, Philadelphia, Portland and Chicago. In 2016-2017, the organization will help nearly 22,000 students pursue their dreams of attending college. Students who participate in College Possible are 98% more likely to be admitted to college and 4 times more likely than their low-income peers to earn a degree.

How Has College Possible Made an Impact for Milwaukee Students?

“Without my College Possible coaches who are always in my corner cheering me on, supporting me, and guiding me through my college career, I definitely would not be where I am today.”

In Milwaukee alone, College Possible helped 750 students in 14 area partner high schools in the 2015-2016 academic year. The organization also supported 800 students who are currently pursuing their college degrees and delivered “College Prep Talks” to over 2,000 students in the Milwaukee area. Of the students who participated in College Possible during the 2015-2016 academic year, 94% were admitted to college and many benefited from a 20% increase in their ACT score.

“College Possible has been my gateway to everything I have now, to college and everything that will come beyond college.”

How Is Digital Measures Helping?

Supporting our community is near and dear to us. We are proud to collaborate with College Possible and help them to achieve their mission. The journey of these students is nothing smallfrom applying to college, through each year of their studies and the day they graduate—and we are proud of the hard work of both the students and organization.

“We are grateful for organizations like Digital Measures who embrace our mission of making a college education a reality for promising students. Their donation will directly help several Milwaukee-area young adults, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college, with the guidance and support to help them succeed in earning college degrees.”
